Regeneration: The Doctor received a lethal dose of radiation when he defeats a race of mutated spiders on Metebelis III. He managed to get back to the TARDIS and pilot back to UNIT, where he collapsed on the floor in front of Sarah Jane and the Brigadier.

Notable Characteristics: The Third Doctor was suave, dashing, technologically oriented, and fond of karate. This Doctor spent most of his time exiled on earth, and grudgingly served as UNIT’s (Unified Intelligence Taskforce) scientific adviser. He was more physically daring than the previous two incarnations, and was often the first to confront an enemy physically if cornered.

Notable Episode: Spearhead From Space was a four episode arc from Season Seven. The newly regenerated Doctor arrives on 20th century Earth along with a shower of mysterious meteorites, which are revealed to be the arrival of the Nestene Consciousness and an invasion of Autons.

Recipe: Three Berry Scones

2 cups flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon table salt
2 tbsp. unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups frozen unsweetened mixed berries

Preheat oven to 400.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Mix in butter until mixture is size of fine crumbs.
Stir in buttermilk, then berries.
On a greased baking sheet, shape dough into two 7-inch circles.
Cut each into 6 wedges; coat with butter-flavored cooking spray.
Bake 20 minutes, or until golden.

Serve with fancy doilies and tea.
